Letter to defend life

Dear Defend Life staff,

Fourteen years ago, when I became pregnant with my daughter, I was single, alone and scared to face the public humiliation of being pregnant around my co-workers on Capitol Hill.

But I weathered the storm with some help from family and the basic knowledge that abortion was wrong!

Your newsletter helps convey the truth about abortion and its evils. I have studied the devastating effects of abortion on people who have them and for many it is a haunting nightmare of regret. In contrast I frequently look at my daughter with a peaceful confirmation of how precious she is and how much joy she has brought to my life.

Please put me on your mailing list. I've decided to make a greater effort to 'Defend Life.' It's important to be armed with knowledge so I can help teach people the truth about abortion.

Tonight my daughter and I are going to the mall to shop for a new dress. This is an ordinary event, but it would surely not be taking place if I did not know at the critical time that I discovered I was pregnant that abortion was seriously wrong. It's so commonplace today and socially acceptable that we have to remember that basic fact.

Thank-you for doing your part to spread the truth.
